Travelling to the Convention

There are various ways to travel to the convention hotel, described below.

By Air

The hotel is 8 miles from Glasgow International Airport. A taxi from the airport will cost about £20. The First 500 Glasgow Shuttle airport bus service runs 24 hours per day, every 10 minutes at peak times, between the airport and the city centre, calling at both Queen Street and Central Stations, as well as Buchanan Street Bus Station. An open return costs £17.50 per adult, £10.50 per child, or £43.00 for up to five adults travelling together.

By Train

Glasgow has two major railway stations in the city centre, Glasgow Central Station and Glasgow Queen Street Station. The nearest railway station to the convention hotel is Glasgow Central Station (GLC), and is 0.3 miles (or six minutes' walk) from the hotel. Glasgow Queen Street Station (GLQ) is about half a mile from the hotel: about 11 minutes' walk; a taxi should cost between £6 and £8.

Travel is unaffected by the recent fire on Union Street near Central Station.

By Bus

Most intercity buses into Glasgow arrive at Buchanan Street Bus Station. A taxi from there to the Clayton Hotel should cost between £6 and £8.

By Car

The hotel is in the middle of Glasgow's one-way system and Low Emissions Zone, which only allows access to vehicles which meet emission standards (see here for details).

The M8 motorway runs close to the venue. Leave the motorway at Junction 19 then continue straight until reaching the Broomielaw, then turn left and continue straight until you reach the hotel. Or just point your satnav to G1 4NP.

Parking

The hotel offers a 40% discount at nearby QPark Car Parks St Enoch and Jamaica Street. You are required book your space and arrival/departure time on their website prior to arrival. Please note, they allow 15 minutes early arrival or late departure after your time has been chosen. To obtain this discount, please use the code CH40 in the Promotion Code field on the billing page.
